Synthetically enhanced natural Agate.
Agates are formations made of Chalcedony and Quartz, normally sporting layers of varying colours across their formations. They are the result of Silica-rich ground water seeping into the cavities in igneous volcanic rock, transporting minerals that harden in layers over the course of many years. The unpredictable nature of how these stones are formed creates concentric banding and colour unique to each deposit, adding a ‘personal’ characteristic to jewellery.
Our dyed range features natural Agates that have been synthetically enhanced with a coloured dye. Our Black variety has been made to have the appearance of Black Onyx.
Agates are commonly used to treat problems with eyesight, hair and hearing. They are also used to alleviate stress – particularly encouraging restful sleep and pleasant dreams.
