Iran's white marble is mainly crystalline. The only difference is the size of the crystals in the crystal
rock, which affects the polishing index, stone resistance and rock transparency. Characteristics is
same to marbles in aspect of chemical composition or physical behavior. Such marbles mainly gather
with some grey, black veins. As veins turn and change in stone, making very beautiful pattern. They
may not very perfect for view of buildings because of their chemical specification and also its color
that after some years you will have dirty stones which needs extra cleaning. But for internal floor, wall,
especially sanitary spaces it works fabulous. then you will have some eye catching designs like
photos in this page.
Main Regions
We have five main regions specified for white crystals. Every region has its own specifications and
has several active quarries with it exclusive extraction capacity. Qorveh type with white background
with gray and dark veins known in Iran as Qorveh crystal. The quarry stone quarry is located in Qorveh
city of Sirish Abad with an average monthly output of about 2,000 tons. Laybid is in Isfahan Province,
along with the city of LayBid and 20 km from Golpayegan city. There are various Quarries that have
been extracted in different colors and designs. Neyriz Crystal is one of the oldest stones with a white
color theme and black lines that used in large amounts. Quarries loacted in Fars Province, Neyriz city,
45 km. Neyriz road to Abadeh. Azna Crystal is the most famous Iranian crystals. This marble with
white background and irregular black and golden lines located in province of Lorestan, in 24 km of
Dorood and Azna. Finally Aligoudarz type located in Lorestan Province, the city of Aligudarz, in the
Erdar Road and appointed as another high quality white marble of Iran
Quorveh Marble (Kurdistan)
Qorveh Marble has a white background and streaks and gray and black halos with tiny crystal grains,
which are known as Qorveh crystal stone in Iran. Low water absorption, high density, excellent
absorbability and very small porosity of this stone have made many architects and builders use this
stone for furnishing and facade stone. This stone is often processed as slabs and in book match and
form match designs. The application of this beautiful crystal stone is in all interior and exterior
spaces of the building, including bathrooms, hall and reception paving stones, office and commercial
building paving stones, stair stones and cabinets.
Neyriz
Fine grained crystals in this marble provides high polishing index. This qualification along
with low water absorption, high compressive strength and abrasive properties make this
very popular. Turning black and grey vines in white background make very nice pattern,
which architects use such pattern by book-matching or four matching slabs in their designs.
Sorting of this marble depends on veins and color of background. Less veins and white
brighter background, the higher quality and accordingly more better prices
Laybid
White background with narrow and broad black line that usually spikes on the marble.
Azna
Azna marble is well known as “Arab” marble and one of the oldest marbles extracted in Iran.
It gets glossy polishing well because of the size of its crystals and with reflection of light is
one of best crystals in iran. For its nice color and transparent behavior can be used in low
light spaces and more suitable for sanitary and even dreamy spaces. Easily book matched to
create very nice pattern by its fabulous veins for presenting in luxury buildings.
Aligoudarz
With its white light and transparent backgrounds, it has the playing of black and grey veins
on it as natural designs. Can be polished for a high glossy polish for good quality light
reflection. This high quality marble has huge deposits and can be easily supplied in large
quantities for bigger projects.
Aligio
New marble from same region of “Aligoudarz” of iran which is well known for having white
crystalline marble. The marble from Aligio has transparent white background, grey veins and
pretty pattern. With great quality in aspect of chemical and grain sizes this is a strong
competitor for Calcutta marble of Italy.
